The Heinrich Böll Foundation and the Institute of International Relations Prague were delighted to organise a seminar with Kristina Lunz, the Co-Founder and Country Director Germany of the Centre for Feminist Foreign Policy. The Institute of International Relations in cooperation with FORUM 2000 and The Department of Political Science at the Faculty of Philosophy and Arts, Charles University, organized a lecture and debate with Saskia Sassen (Robert S. Lynd Professor of Sociology at Columbia University) with title "On Cities: Re-assembling the Urban and Global Political Landscape". The debate took place at Faculty of Philosophy and Arts, Charles University, nám. Jana Palacha 1/2, room 131 (Aula) on Tuesday, October 15th at 17:00.

The Institute of International Relations organized its already 11th International Symposium on "Czech Foreign Policy" with the topic "Fostering Multilateralism", offering many interesting speakers and intriguing debates. This year's conference was held on 23rd and 24th of September 2019.

Resolving the Disputes in the South China Sea
The Institute of International Relations in cooperation with Sinophone Borderlands, Palacký University Olomouc organized a lecture on "Resolving the disputes in the South China Sea". The lecture by Bill Hayton, Associate Fellow with the Asia-Pacific Programme at Chatham House, a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society and a full-time journalist with BBC News in London, took place on 19 September at 5 pm at the IIR, Nerudova 3, Prague.
