What are the trajectories of the ongoing change in the cities as complex and incomplete systems, and what are the broader political effects of this change in terms of organisation of social life, political representation or war? We have hosted a lecture and a conversation on these and related issues with Saskia Sassen, Robert S. Lynd Professor of Sociology at Columbia University and one of the foremost contemporary social scholars and public intellectuals exploring globalisation and (global) cities.

The discussion was moderated by Ondřej Ditrych (Director, Institute of International Relations Prague).
