Martin Svec a Ph.D. Candidate at the Masaryk University (his dissertation Dimensions of International and European Energy Law: State Sovereignty in Ensuring Energy Security focuses on the limits of energy security and international law instruments) and a Research Fellow at the Institute of Law and Technology at the Masaryk University. His expertise covers international energy law, international investment law, international environmental law and international space law. Since 2016, Martin lectures in public international law, international energy law and EU law at the Masaryk University. In 2017-2018, he did his research as a visiting researcher at the Tel Aviv University in Israel. In 2016, he lectured in international economic law and EU law at the Mendel University in the Czech Republic. In 2015, he worked as a legal intern at the Energy Charter Secretariat in Brussels. Martin is also a Research Fellow at the Charles University engaged in a research project: A multidisciplinary analysis of planetary defense from asteroids as the key national policy ensuring further flourishing and prosperity of humankind both on Earth and in Space seeking to develop a new regime for utilisation of space resources, and discussing private sector engagement and space commercialization.
