The 2019 presidential and parliamentary elections in Ukraine have determined the future of this country for several years to come. The stakes were multidimensional: Will the old power-pyramid or even clan system crumble? Will the elections complete or reverse the 2014 Revolution of Dignity impulse? What kind of support will the new (or old) president have after the parliamentary elections in October? Could the elections start a new era in Ukrainian politics in such regards as gender balance or deoligarchization? Our non-resident senior fellow Andreas Umland tried to deal with these issues in his presentation at the IIR.

Speaker: Andreas Umland, Senior Nonresident Fellow, Institute of International Relations (Senior Fellow, Institute for Euro-Atlantic Cooperation)
